2018 Luminaries of the Year – Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, popularly known as Daddy G.O is the general overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) with headquarters in Nigeria of over 42,000 parishes within the country and also has churches in over 190 countries worldwide.

He was born on March 2nd, 1942 in Osun state (western part of Nigeria). He was lecturer of Mathematics at University of Ilorin with the aim of become the Youngest Vice – Chancellor (University President) before he was called for a greater work to serve the Lord.

He took over as the overseer of the church in 1981, he was ordained as Pastor in 1977 after joining the church in 1973 where he translate the message of the founder (Rev. Josaiah Olufemi Akindayomi) from Yoruba to English.

Pastor E. A. Adeboye and the ministry has been involved in many charitable works and rending assistance to humanity both Christian and non-Christian in Nigeria and all over the world. Some of the recent assistance among others include;

Over 150 missionaries were given walfare package in Abuja, Nigeria.

An Ambulance was donated to Zaka in Isreal during the disaster in the country.

Recently, the ministry just launched a global foundation called His Love foundation with the aim of feeding and assisting 50 million people all over the world with an initial focus on six key areas of education, health, prisons, hunger, social enterprise and rehabilitation. In 2008, Newsweek named him among 50 most powerful people in the world.

He is happily married to Pastor Folu Adeboye and blessed with Children.
