Christmas means different thing to different people, an average person sees Christmas as a season for celebration, and most times what they are celebrating they don’t know, some sees it an opportunity to have holiday with family, play with friends, take relief from work and all sort, there are some people that see it as celebration that precedes new year in other words when its Christmas, then it means we are approaching to the latter days of the year and getting ready for a new year.
Well, all these are very correct which are actually facts on what Christmas is but that’s not the truth about Christmas. You know, you can enjoy the euphoria of a particular thing and not the real thing in its actual sense or should I say we have actually shifted focus on what Christmas is and focus on what Christmas is not.
We have set priorities on the secondary level of Christmas forgetting the primary purpose of Christmas and when this happen that means we are not in alignment on what Christmas is meant for in the first place.
I know someone is actually thinking about the definition of Christmas and what they do on that day. Well let me shock you that Christmas is far far originated from a mass celebrated by the Catholics in celebration of Jesus. They were just privileged to celebrate the birth of Jesus in such manner in accordance with their understanding which is the best way they could as at that time.
But let me tell you that Christmas is far beyond the celebration of mass and not just an avenue to celebrate that is secondary after which the primary is achieved.
Christmas in it real sense is actually a practical example on how we should live as a believer of Christ, the Bible says Jesus our perfect example. So Jesus came to this earth as a Son of the most high through the birth by Mary on a mission to save the world from every form of destruction and return the dominion the first Adam lost to Satan. By the virtue of the Gods system, man lost dominion then man must be the one to restore dominion, no wonder Jesus who is the word became flesh and dwell among us in order to retrieve this authority on earth.
So, the birth of Jesus is a gift unto men for the restoration of what has been lost, no wonder John 3:16 says For God so love the world that he gave His only begotten son, that is, this gift from God is as result of the love of God towards us.
This is exactly what we should replicate in everyday of our life not just on Christmas day only. Let me tell you that if your Christmas does not express love, giving, and restoration then it is not Christmas yet, especially to those who are major benefactors of this grace and if you are not a benefactor yet, there is an urgent need for you to be partaker so you won’t regret later, it might look like a gift which is by choice but I can tell you that it is a gift you must not miss because the later part of that John 3:16 says …that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
If you don’t want to perish in this life and the one to come, kindly accept this precious gift, you can do that here.
When we are celebrating Christmas let us not just be a partaker of what is in John 3:16 but live wire of what is I John 3:16 which says Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
On a final note, a life of Christmas is a life that expresses the love of God through giving for the restoration of men.
