Pastor Adeboye, Christian Association of Nigeria , Prayer Walk against Killings, Insecurity in the Country

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) declared a three day fasting and prayer in order to strengthen military combat against terrorism and insurgency in the country. The fasting started on Friday 31st January and ended on Sunday 2nd January with a prayer walk.

This activity has been observed by many Christian’s bodies in Nigeria including the Redeemed Christian Church God (RCCG), led by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

Before the prayer walk Adeboye by led the congregation in prayer of peace and security of the country, “ Lord, have mercy on Nigeria . Let there be peace and security in Nigeria . God sees all things and knows where the terrorists are hiding , we pray that God sends His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country.

“After the service , we are all going for a prayer walk . We ’ll march according to age . There are some who would march around the church because of their age and there are some who would march with me to Atan Cemetery and back.” He

The prayer walk kicked started after the Thanksgiving Service at the National Headquarters in Ebute Meta, Lagos state all through Yaba to and fro.

This same activity is observed in all RCCG branch all over the country, the General overseer shedding more light said “the prayer walk was aimed at offering prayers and supplications unto God to save Nigeria from being consumed by insurgents , terrorists , bandits , kidnappers, armed robbers , militants and ritualists in all our states .”

According to PUNCH, During this protest, the cleric requested for “the security infrastructure in our nation be overhauled and improved drastically ” for the current security challenges to be a thing of the past.

The cleric displayed several placards saying ‘ No to further killings ’ , demanding that the Federal and State governments should rise up to their civic responsibility of securing the lives and properties of her citizens.
