BOOK REVIEW: Understanding the Anointing – Kenneth E. Hagin

This book helps Christians to understand how God demonstrates His power in our lives. Learn how to tap into the divine power that God intends all believers and ministers to utilize!

It reveals what the Bible calls the ANOINTING – the power of God in action to change lives using Biblical insights, authors personal lessons and fascinating stories from his many years of ministry to illustrate how God makes His power available to believers through the anointing.

The book is divided into three sections.
The first section, focuses on individual anointing that all believers have in the New Birth with expository on the anointing of Jesus then the anointing within according to 2 Corinthians 1: 21-22 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22, Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. However, there is a dual working of the Spirit of God in the life of a believer; the New Birth and the baptize in the Holy Spirit.

While in the second section the author discussed anointing with different offices, anointing on ministry gifts. I Corinthians 12: 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. The fivefold gifts, anointing to teach, preach, pastor, evangelize, the prophets and apostles.

The author noted that you can stand in more than one office, but you need to find out where you are and what your office is and yield to that. Then God will use you and you will excel in your calling.

The finally section centered on the corporate anointing which is even more stronger and said by the author. Using 2 Chronicles 5: 11-14, And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course: 12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. There is something about that corporate body praising God that brings forth the manifestation of His glory.

I will advise you to get the book read more and have the understanding on how the anointing works.
