The Author noted that there is a need to understand that the world and the body of Christ is in need of members who are spiritually mature.
All of us begin as spiritual babes in Christ when we are born again. But God doesn’t intend for us to stay that way. God desires for us to grow into Christian maturity.
This book will help you sum up your own case to discern where you are spiritually. Then, after you’ve located yourself, they will help you grow out of that stage into another stage – spiritually.
The first thing is locating yourself, which have three stages in spiritual development that also correspond to three stages in physical development. They are;
First, Babyhood; as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1 Peter 2:2. No one is born a full grown human naturally and physically.
They are born babies, and then they grow up. Similarly no one is born a full grown Christian. You are born a spiritual babe, and then you grow up.
Second, Childhood: That we henceforth be no more children… Ephesians 4:14.
Characteristics of the childhood stage of spiritual development are similar to the physical which include; Unsteadiness, curiosity and Talkativeness.
Third, Manhood: which is characterized as Esteeming earthly things lightly, deadness to Censure or praise and ability to recognize God at work.
Chapter five discussed how we need to grow by becoming acquainted with out heavenly father and that can be achieved basically, by getting acquainted through the word. Just as the author quoted Smith Wigglesworth who said, “I can’t understand God by feelings. I understand God the Father by what the Word says about Him.”
Dear reader, you need to understand that to fellowship with God, to walk with God, to walk in God’s realm, we must walk in love.
Divine love for God is love. Romans 5:5 says “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
In this book you will discover how to;
- Locate your current stage of spiritual growth.
