Never confuse CONFIRMATION with VALIDATION in ministry.
Your VALIDATION comes from God; your CONFIRMATION comes from men.
No human being can VALIDATE your call. We can only CONFIRM what THE LORD ALONE does in the lives of people.
If you’re a young minister who is not confident in the Grace of God upon your life until a popular minister “validates” your calling, you still have a long way to go.
You will suffer a lot of insecurity and inferiority complex if you’re always waiting for men to VALIDATE your calling.
Truth is that often, human beings see through coloured lenses and these pigmented views stem from personal sentiments and prejudices.
But God is bigger than the prejudice of any man. He’s God by Himself and He doesn’t need to consult any mortal man to determine anybody’s future.
I know that what I’m saying is a bit “tough” but that’s the truth. Nobody can replace God in your life.
To tell a young minister that he will not succeed in ministry is playing God, because even God, the Creator and Owner of the Heaven and earth and in whose hand is the breath of all mortal men, doesn’t talk like that.
The quest for recognition by many a young minister has led them into what they didn’t bargain for.
Stop looking for VALIDATION from men. Nobody can call anyone into ministry; we can only CONFIRM the call, and this CONFIRMATION must also be situated in the context of God’s eternal counsel.
We saw a scenario play out at the church at Antioch:
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. note
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, THE HOLY GHOST SAID, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for THE WORK WHEREUNTO I HAVE CALLED THEM.
Notice that it wasn’t the men of God at that meeting that called Barnabas and Saul; they only CONFIRMED the calling. It was the Holy Ghost that called them.
Men stand in CONFIRMATORY ROLES in our lives; not VALIDATORY ROLE.
At River Jordan, God Almighty VALIDATED the ministry of Christ by speaking from Heaven above, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” – Matt. 3:17.
Then at the coast of Caeserea Philipi, Peter only “CONFIRMED” what God had said earlier, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” – Matt.16:16.
So, as a minister, you must be able to differentiate between VALIDATION and CONFIRMATION in ministry.
That someone calls you an Apostle doesn’t make you an Apostle.
That someone calls you a Prophet doesn’t make you a Prophet.
That someone calls you an evangelist doesn’t make you an Evangelist.
That someone calls you a Pastor doesn’t make you a Pastor.
That someone calls you a Teacher doesn’t make you a Teacher.
There’s nothing wrong in all of that especially if you’re called along those lines but those statements don’t VALIDATE your calling.
Your calling is VALIDATED because God Himself called you, and anybody’s opinion is unimportant.
If your SENSE OF VALIDATION comes from what people say, then when people don’t say anything or they disagree with your calling, you slide into depression.
That’s why you must have a personal REVELATION of your ministry VALIDATION from the Lord.
Then from there, people can CONFIRM the call, especially the God-ordained authorities in your life – THAT’S THE BALANCE!
Today, if a globally-acclaimed minister tells you, “Bro. Go and sit down. God never called you”, but you know deep in your heart that the call of God upon your life is real, how will you feel?
That’s why this short teaching is very important!
By God’s Grace, I have ministry sons who were told by people in the past that they won’t succeed in ministry and that their ministries would crash, but today, the Grace of God has proven those “Assistant Gods” wrong.
To God alone be all the Glory!!! There are several examples of other fathers in the Faith but we just leave it there for want of space.
The most important thing is to get the message. The bottom line is to stop looking for VALIDATION from men, especially great men of God and to also stop “looking for” CONFIRMATION from men.
If the Spirit of God leads men to CONFIRM His call upon your life, then so be it, and we give God all the praise and we also appreciate those vessels of the Lord who yielded themselves to God for CONFIRMATION.
This is not to however say that you should not have a sense of accountability to the God-ordained authorities in your life.
Be accountable, stay humble and trust the leadership of the spiritual authority in your life, but LET NO MAN DESPISE YOUR CALLING.
Your VALIDATION comes ONLY from God!!!
